WHERE ARE THE DAVIDS OF THIS GENERATION?
WHERE ARE THE DAVIDS OF THIS GENERATION?
Our world is full of all manner of lamentations. The citizens in most African nations seem to have lost hope in their leaders. This is because of the untold hardship imposed on them by
these leaders.
The rate of poverty, insecurity and corruption seem to be on a geometric progression. Religion which is supposed to be a medium of societal transformation is being used by some leaders subtly to destroy lives. We seem to have a generation of leaders who have brought more woes on our continent.
The Bible says,’’ Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning’’( Eccl 10:16). Childishness in this regard is not just about age. One of the features of a child is selfishness and it is obvious that one of the plagues bedeviling Africa is the bankruptcy of selfless leaders. Am sorry to say this but our leaders in
Africa are a reflection of the above scripture.
Once in every four years, gullible Africans head to their polling booths to elect leaders who would have earlier on promised heaven on earth but as soon as power gets into their hands, the devil enters their head. They begin to whip the people with ‘scorpions’.
Enough of the lamentations. The current generation have failed. Don’t expect anything much from them. There is already a shift in the realm of the spirit. God seems to be asking the same question He asked Prophet Samuel in 1 Samuel 16:1. The question and statement reads thus: ‘’And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons’’.
God is in search of the ‘Davids’ He will pour His oil on. The ‘Sauls’ of today have been rejected. They are just occupying positions. The Davids are the younger generation. They are a generation of people who love God genuinely. Their love for God is second to none and their hearts pants after Him as the deer pants after the water.
Their genuine love for the people gives them the audacity to risk their lives before the Goliaths of the world. Our world is faced with all manner of Goliaths. Goliaths represents things like corruption, poverty, economic gloom, unemployment and the likes. Saul will always be scared of Goliath. Only the young anointed and selfless David will withstand Goliath. WHERE ARE THE DAVIDS?
WHERE ARE THE SELFLESS PEOPLE AMONG THE PRESENT DAY YOUTHS? Youthfulness is not time for fun. It is time to take responsibility. It is time to imbibe the Davidic values for leadership. David got Gods attention as a teenager because he had a different mentality. Dear youth what kind of mentality have you got? Can you stand as a David or you have already been colonized by King Saul. Once you have the DNA of Saul, you are no longer useable. God is raising a new brand of people. GET ENLISTED.
