EVILS OF COMPARING YOURSELF WITH OTHERS

We live in a world where people want to feel among. Several people appear to be in a rat race to gain recognition and acceptance. Many are under pressure to stand tall among their peers. To such people, standing tall means riding the best car,wearing the best clothes,having a better paying job,marrying a well to do spouse etc.

Because of all these societal standards, myopic people get depressed because their peers seem to have left them behind. That her friends are married with children and she is yet single will give a lady sleepless nights. So many people are in disastrous marriages today because they could not wait for the right person. They just married to make a statement and today they are in great regrets. Some men are deep into occult today because they wanted to outdo their peers. In the process,some had to kill their loved ones to make money. People who compare themselves with others

* make choices and decisions under pressure which most times end in regrets.

*It keeps them in the realm of impatience. Impatience has sent several people to their early graves.

*They easily fall into snares, traps,temptations and even the devil.

*They are never content with what they have and are easily depressed. Some people cannot mix up with certain peers because they feel intimidated by their accomplishments. Any friend, who feels too big to associate with you because of certain small accomplishments is too myopic to be your friend. We are not on earth to compete with one another. We are created to complement each other in order to make the world a better place. Foolish people live beyond their means just to impress neighbours and others who do not care about them. Your destiny is not inferior to that of anyone. God created each of us with different assignments. Your major job is find that assignment and give it your best and then you will find out there is no point comparing yourself to others.
Your times are in the hands of your Creator. He has great plans for all of His creation. Those plans are unique to each person. He takes us through different routes and trainings. Our timings are also different. The fact that your friend got it before you does not mean you will not get it.Your times are in His hands. Remain connected to God, find your purpose and pursue it with passion irrespective of your background, education, income, colour etc. Never be intimidated by any mortal man. It is not necessary. We are all on a race with different lanes. Run your race my friend.
The Bible says,''For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among , are not wise''.(2 cor 10:12). God bless you.
